Week 4

Garden School

A big thank you today for Martin and the whole gang from Lloyds.

They worked flat out in the garden and it's been a huge help in moving our exciting garden project forward.

Art in the Garden School

The Autumn weather continues to inspire our creative minds in the garden.

We've been investigating the seasonal changes and using foraged materials in our artistic projects.

In keeping with the whole school topic 'All About Me' we've been using natural materials, combined with some lovely sticky mud, to create amazing representations of ourselves on trees all around the garden.

We have even done a spot of tree hugging and Starfish Class demonstrated their great numeracy skills while hanging on with all their strength, counting how many seconds they could cling on for.

Lets hope the sun keeps shining.

Week 3

Garden School

admin on: Week 3

Hi everyone,

It's week three of the new term and the garden project at Highbury is now under way.

As you know we are ambitious at Highbury and this is going to be a long journey, but what is life without a challenge.

So what have we achieved so far:

A brand new border with beautiful prairie planting.

A fabulous bird hide for our pupils to observe the local wildlife.

A great Harvest assembly with Mrs Mac, who says the rain stops play!

A brilliant team of parent volunteers who already cleared a patch of land ready for next years growing season ........and that just in three weeks, just think where we will be in three years.
