We are "Charity of they Year"!!

We are pleased to announce that Friends of Highbury School has once again been named Sainsburys Brighouse Store "Charity of the Year" for 2011/2012. Sainsburys have been an excellent link and have raised £4000 pounds for us!

Charity Ball is a Roaring Success!!

The Charity Ball held at "The Venue" was an absolute success helping raise over £3000 in funds for the pool fund! Many Thanks to everyone that helped make this such a great night!!

Who are the ‘Friends of Highbury’?

Friends of Highbury Development Fund is a charity that was started by parents with the aim of funding enrichment activities and resources for the children of Highbury School that are not otherwise provided by the main school funds.  Eighteen months after initially gaining charitable status the ‘Friends’ are now working in partnership with parents, staff and the wider community.  We are delighted to be supported by Sainsbury’s this year.

What is the aim?

One of the high profile projects currently focusing the group’s attention is the refurbishment of the school’s hydrotherapy pool.  Other projects currently being discussed are additional equipment for the new play area (e.g. trampolines for rebound therapy and specially adapted, accessible bicycles etc).  Some of the funds raised will be used to buy these special children Christmas gifts.

The story so far..

To date, the ‘Friends’ have held a variety of fund raising events including:

Ladies Night; Raffles; Cake stalls; Bucket collection at the Shay; Pie and Peas Night; sponsored runs; local shop collection boxes, Brighouse Charity Gala.
